PRUEBAS EXTERNAS 4ºESO 16-17

Ya tenemos fechas para las pruebas externas de Cambridge en 4º ESO (recordamos que desde el año pasado ya no hay pruebas en 2º ESO) 
Todas se van a realizar en el centro a excepcción de las de C1, que se realizarán en ESIC en Pozuelo (Camino de Valdenigrales s/n)

 El  exámen escrito del PET y durará 2 horas y  el del FIRST durará 3,15 h.

 Nuestros alumnos están recibiendo clases de apoyo de cada nivel de sus profesoras y de una de nuestras auxiliares  y estamos seguros de que obtendrán los mejores resultados. Este año presentamos 134 alumnos a las pruebas: 16 a PET, 75 a  FIRST  y 43 a  ADVANCED.

Jornadas de inmersión en Sigüenza

Our students of 4º ESO with three of their English teachers: Sara, Laura and Cristina are enjoying three days in Sigüenza. They will be able to practise English with native teachers and do lots of activities such as climbing, playing sports, visiting the city and others. You can follow each day here and see them having fun and learning.

Saint Patrick's Day

On March 17th People celebrate Saint Patrick's Day all over the world. Our school also celebrates with exhibitions in the hall, the English teachers dedicate lessons to it and wear green clothes. 
If you don't know much about him, read the following curiosities:

 

• He wasn't Irish
• He was a slave before becoming a priest and a bishop.
• He used the shamrock to teach Trinity
• The Symbol of Ireland is not the shamrock but the harp
• The colour of Saint Patrick's Day was blue at the beginning.
•  He is supposed  to have driven the snakes out of Ireland
  
  
  
   Irish people are very superstitious and they have lots of blessings for this day.
  
  
  

International Women's Day

Women's Day is celebrated on March 8th all over the world. 


Our school also celebrates it with an exhibition of outstanding women in history and with a special homage to Carmen Conde, the writer and academic whose name our school bears proudly.

To celebrate women's achievents, you can also watch the following video that gives you lots of food for thought. 

In this year's campaign for International Women's Day, they're asking you to #BeBoldForChange.Call on the masses or call on yourself to help forge a better working world - a more gender inclusive world.

English Impact

Our school has been selected by Comunidad de Madrid for a research project on the Impact that political decisions have on the level of English. 

170 schools ( publicas, privadas y concertadas) in Madrid participate in the research along with schools in Bangladesh, Colombia, Turkey and Sri Lanka.
12 students of 4º ESO  have been chosen and will take a test held by the British Council on March 28th. 
Our students will be assessed on listening, speaking, writing, reading and grammar and vocabulary. 

We all know they'll do great!

Storytelling in English

Last Thursday we had a lovely visit in school. All the students in 1º ESO could enjoy a special activity in the library with Jennifer Ramsey, a storyteller from Scotland. 

  She told us stories from all over the world: Nigeria, Syria, China, her homeland Scotland etc. She created a special atmosphere with ethnical instruments, some students even helped her to tell the stories. It was very pleasant and entertaining. 

The students of sección will have the oportunity to tell their own stories of myths from all over the world that they have researched in English and Social Studies classes.
